How does Glitch in the Credit compare with other AI credit and GPU-debt trackers?
By Adam. Checked
Short answer: The five trackers below each publish a different slice of this space: deals, rents, fund events or a weekly index. Glitch in the Credit publishes one daily 0 to 100 stress index from 17 signals in six layers, free in full, under CC BY 4.0, with the latest reading as JSON at api/latest.json and a site map for AI tools at llms.txt. The table below sets out what five others state on their own pages, which we read on Oct 27, 2026. On Oct 30, 2026 our index read 48 (Elevated). Each does something we don’t, and we say what.
Every row below is what that tracker’s own pages said when we read them on Oct 27, 2026. Where a page was silent we write “not stated”. These pages change, so check the link. This isn’t a complete list of trackers, and we state no view on how good any of them is.
What does each one publish?
| Tracker | What it publishes, as stated | What it does that we don’t |
|---|---|---|
| American Compute | A GPU Financing Tracker: 110 public debt, lease and structured financings to GPU clouds, former bitcoin miners and AI campus developers, $197B of new money, “Updated October 10, 2026.” The company says financial institutions use it to source compute deals and manage their risk, and that it is not a lender or insurer. | Deal-level detail. Its CSV has one row per financing, with 21 columns including borrower, amount, instrument, pricing, tenor, status and sources. |
| CCIR (Compute Credit Index Research) | Daily GPU rental rates (as of 2026-10-26, by 07:30 ET when read) and a GPU-backed debt tracker that states 110 instruments tracked and $108B secured directly by the GPUs. The publisher is Compute Credit Index Research LLC, per its page. | Publishes its own daily GPU rental rates, which it says come from providers’ public pricing pages. We show rents only from other indexes, with credit, and don’t offer them as data. |
| BDC Redemptions | Per fund and quarter: share repurchase requests, request fulfillment, offer limit and shares repurchased, plus open tender offers that link to their SC TO-I filings. States 514 reported events since 2010 Q4, 42 funds, and for the latest completed quarter (2026 Q2) 31 events, with stated averages of 7.25% requested and 81.91% filled. | A longer fund history than ours: events back to 2010 Q4, against our 90-day window. It also reports the offer limit and shares repurchased for each event. |
| Chip-Backed Finance Observatory (AI Transparency Institute) | A public tracker of GPU-backed loans and AI infrastructure debt, deal by deal, with each entry sourced and marked verified or reported. It also tracks GPU collateral value through resale and rental prices, keeps a calendar of chip announcements and maps who holds the risk. It is run by a non-profit, the AI Transparency Institute, and cites a 2026 paper, “Chips as Collateral” (Thelisson, on SSRN). | Deal-level coverage of chip-backed loans, with a verified or reported label on each entry, and a non-profit publisher. We have no deal database. |
| Compute Terminal: AI-Infra Credit Stress Index | A weekly index of AI infrastructure debt financing with three views: a funding-cost ladder, a debt-maturity wall built from issuers’ debt notes, and contract cover (contracted backlog divided by debt). Published by Apex Management Int LLC. The page showed no index level or date when read. | Reports debt maturities by year and contracted backlog divided by debt as named measures. Our signals are graded statuses, not these ratios. It is one of eleven instruments on a wider research and data site. |
| Glitch in the Credit (this site) | One daily index, 0 to 100, from 17 signals in six layers (collateral, weakest borrowers, loans, funds, plumbing, people). Each reading links its source and date. BDC tender data covers a 90-day window: 56 offers and 6 posted results from 55 funds on Oct 30, 2026. GPU cost inputs and floors are open data. | One daily reading across the whole chain rather than one data stream. We have no deal database, no history before Oct 25, 2026 and no long fund history. Our readings are judgment calls linked to sources. |
What does it cost, and what are the terms?
| Tracker | Free or paid, as stated | Licence or terms, as stated | Downloads, API and llms.txt |
|---|---|---|---|
| American Compute | The tracker CSV is free. A spreadsheet data pack is sent by email on request, with no price shown on the tracker page. | The tracker page and the CSV header both say “Free to use with attribution.” The full terms of service are in a downloadable document that we did not read. | CSV download. An llms.txt exists. An API is not stated on the pages we read. |
| CCIR (Compute Credit Index Research) | The site says it is free to read. No pricing is shown. | The Data Terms say the published data is © Compute Credit Index Research LLC. Quoting and citing values in research and reporting is allowed. Bulk retrieval, redistribution of series, commercial repackaging and use in trading, valuation or contracts need written permission. | A rates CSV with the current print and thirty days of history. Longer history and “machine delivery” need written permission. An API is not stated. An llms.txt was not found. |
| BDC Redemptions | The public site is free. Its Plus section is described as a paid research layer with complete fund-quarter coverage, reports and watermark-free charts; the page says Plus “is not currently available for purchase,” and no price is stated. | The terms bar automated crawling and scraping, bulk downloading, copying figures into a separate dataset, supplying the figures to others and AI training. Linking to its pages, naming it as the source and quoting a limited number of figures with credit and a link are allowed. | Web pages only. No API or bulk download is stated, and the terms bar bulk downloading. An llms.txt was not found. |
| Chip-Backed Finance Observatory (AI Transparency Institute) | No price or paid tier is stated. | The page says it is free to reuse with attribution (CC BY 4.0). | The number of entries, the date of the last update, export format, API and llms.txt are not stated on the pages we read. The “Open Observatory” link goes to a beta database (v1.0) that did not show counts or a date when read. |
| Compute Terminal: AI-Infra Credit Stress Index | The headline level is public weekly. Components need the Plus plan ($99 a month or $665 a year as listed) and quarterly teardowns the Pro plan ($199 a month or $1,330 a year as listed). A read-only API and daily JSON packs are listed under Pro. | Headline readings may be reused under CC BY 4.0 with the credit “Source: Compute Terminal” and a link. | An llms.txt exists on the site; it didn’t mention this index. The API is listed under Pro. |
| Glitch in the Credit (this site) | Free in full. The latest reading needs no key; the full dataset needs a free key, which comes with the daily email. | CC BY 4.0: credit “Glitch in the Credit” and link to the page you used. Third-party prices keep their owners’ terms and are not offered as downloads. | JSON and CSV files, api/latest.json, api/index.json, an API for the full dataset, llms.txt and llms-full.txt. |
Where does Glitch in the Credit differ?
- One reading, every day. A single 0 to 100 index with a band, and a chain-reaction check across collateral, weakest borrowers and funds.
- Free in full, with an open license. CC BY 4.0, with files you can download and an API with a free key. Of the five, BDC Redemptions and CCIR state limits on bulk copying or redistribution, and Compute Terminal puts its components and API behind paid plans.
- Written for machines too. llms.txt, llms-full.txt and Dataset structured data.
- Every reading links its source. See who makes it and how to check it.
What do others cover that we don’t?
- Our daily history starts Oct 25, 2026, so we have little track record. BDC Redemptions reports events back to 2010 Q4.
- We don’t publish deal-level financing data. American Compute, CCIR and the Chip-Backed Finance Observatory do.
- We don’t publish our own GPU rental rates. CCIR does.
- Our readings are graded judgments, not computed from one formula, and some rest on secondhand reporting.
Follow the debt. Not a timing tool. Not financial advice.
